Refund & Returns Policy
Everything in the Design Syndrome store is a digital product: textures, mockups, graphics, effects, brushes, and bundles that you download and keep. Because of that, returns work a little differently than they do in a physical store, and we want to be completely upfront about how.
Instant access means final sale
Our products are delivered instantly. The moment your order is complete, your files are ready to download. Once a download has started, the product has been fully delivered, so there's nothing to "return"; you already have it. For that reason, instant-access digital products are final once the download begins, and it's why we're unable to offer change-of-mind refunds on delivered products.
This is not us hiding the ball. If something is genuinely wrong with your files, we will always make it right. See "When we'll refund you" below.
When we'll refund you
Fair is fair. We'll gladly refund you in these cases:
- Accidental duplicate purchase. You bought two licenses for the same product by mistake. Send us the order info and we'll refund the duplicate.
- A technical problem we can't fix. If you hit a consistently reproducible error with the files that we can't resolve after you report it, we'll refund you. Please contact us first with the specifics so we can try to help.
- The product was misrepresented. If the delivered item doesn't match what the product description promised, or something listed as included wasn't delivered, that's on us. Misrepresentation means a factual mismatch (for example, the description promised clean lines but the files show pixelation at 100%). It does not include subjective opinions about quality or style.
When we're unable to refund
To keep things clear, we can't offer refunds in these situations:
- You changed your mind, no longer need the product, or found something you like better.
- You bought it by accident and our records show the product was downloaded.
- You don't have the software needed to open or edit the files. Software requirements are listed in every product description.
- You feel the item is low quality when it matches its description.
- You're having trouble downloading due to your own internet connection (speed, stability, or large file size).
- You report a technical issue but can't or won't provide evidence of it.
How to reach us
For anything refund-related, email contact@designsyndrome.com with your order number and a short description of what's going on. We read every message, and we want you to be happy with what you bought.
For customers in the European Union
If you're a consumer in the EU, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on distance purchases (the "cooling-off period"), which lets you cancel an online order within 14 days without giving a reason.
There is an important exception for digital products. Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you lose this right of withdrawal for digital content not supplied on a physical medium once the download has begun, provided you gave your express consent to start the download immediately and acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal by doing so.
At checkout, you give exactly that consent and acknowledgment before your files are delivered, and we confirm it to you by email. This means:
- If you have not yet downloaded your files, you can still withdraw within 14 days. Just contact us (see below) and we'll cancel and refund the order.
- Once your download has begun, the right of withdrawal no longer applies, because the product has already been fully delivered to you.
Business buyers: The right of withdrawal protects consumers, meaning people buying outside their trade or profession. If you're purchasing as a business, freelancer, studio, or agency for professional use, the cooling-off period does not apply to your order.
How to withdraw (if eligible)
If you're within your withdrawal window and haven't downloaded yet, you don't need a special form. Email us at contact@designsyndrome.com with your name, your order number, and a line stating that you want to withdraw from your purchase. We'll take care of the cancellation and refund.
